Transgender is a condition where a person experiences mismatch of their gender identity and their assigned sex. Transgender is also an umbrella term and can mostly is used to identify transsexuals, sometimes also transvestites or crossdressers and ladyboys, it may include genderqueer people (whose identities are not exclusively masculine or feminine). Transgender term does not identify sexual orientation. Transgender people have a sexual orientation, just like everyone else. Transgender people may be straight, lesbian, gay, or bisexual. For example, a person who transitions from male to female and is attracted solely to men would typically identify as a straight woman. A person who transitions from female to male and is attracted solely to men would typically identify as a gay man.
